Frequently
Asked Questions
How is
the firm organized?
Schnieders Capital Management (SCM) is a horizontally
integrated firm. This means that we handle the core function
of analyzing companies and building portfolios while all
other tasks have been outsourced to other firms.
Our new firm will allow us much greater flexibility in
rendering investment advice. We will have access to a
boarder range of research, much larger inventory of bonds
(both municipal and corporate) and other fixed income
instruments; as well as being able to work with a number
of different brokerage firms, including Pershing LLC,
a Bank of New York Securities Group Co. Pershing LLC has
offered our clients attractive commission prices.
Pershing LLC, incidentally is one of the top brokers on
the New York Stock exchange, executing approximately 7%
of all daily trades on the NYSE and providing custody
for over $400 billion of client assets. Pershing LLC also
clears for over 800 firms including broker dealers and
Registered Investment Advisors.
In addition to these core functions, we have also outsourced
our back office, payroll, accounting, and technology services
to local and regional firms, all of whom have been intergraded
into our communications network.
What are the firm's hours?
SCM's normal business hours are from 6:15 am to 4:15 pm
Monday thru Friday.
Where are my stocks held?
No securities or cash are held at SCM. Rather all securities
are held at a custodian financial institution such as
Pershing LLC, where SCM acts as an advisor on these assets.
